Someone in my neighborhood recently "sold" their place for $8500--though it wasn't actually sold. It just shows up this way as a sale record. They still live there, it was never on the market etc. I have seen this a couple of times on listings' histories. Anyone know what this means?
Thanks.

Sometimes a partial interest can be sold, and the records will show the price but not the % of equity. Also this happens for parking spots that are sold apart from a condo.
