Homes instantly going "pending"

I've seen several listings that are listed then shortly go "pending".  Some of these homes I've never seen listed before. How could a property go into contract within mins of hitting MLS?

Because the listing agent already had a buyer lined up before he/she listed it. I don't know if you're required to list a property on the MLS regardless of the fact that you already have a buyer but maybe that's why they list it.

If you are an MLS member, you are required by MLS rules to put every listing on MLS.
