Interesting. So the guy that was foreclosed on made out with $340k. Not a bad deal for him. Probably made more money than the Flipper will.

Why didn't I get in on this scam...

Because most of the smart people thought all the boom mortgage fraud would put people in jail instead of making them rich and living lavish lifestyles.

For listings like this, does the possible buyer visit the site and say oh I didn't see that apartment complex looking straight into my rare opportunity.  And then say, oh well at least the pictures look good, lets buy this bad boy especially since this house has green materials and name brand fixtures?

I am not sure I see an apartment complex...but the noise from the school 2 houses away could be a definite problem for some...

There's a multi-unit right next to it -- can see it in the google map street view.

Re: What a transformation. Get the popcorn.

Well at least this one looks like it has been truthfully upgraded and remodeled unlike the pigsticks we see in the area.

But the sad part is the Glendale Fwy just one block down that is a constant nuisance! I went to visit one house on Ewing

2 weeks ago and the continous flow of traffic was just awful.

Yes, I know - I checked the street view...

As you say, there is an x-plex (x=2. 3. or 4) next to it...That is quite different than an "apartment complex" - especially in terms of noise and parking.

(The point being that saying there is an apartment complex next to it is misleading...)

Ok, you win.  I submit to you in this semantics battle...

It's registered as a 4-plex.

Re: What a transformation. Get the popcorn.

For old parts of LA, this street looks kind of OK.  It's in one of these areas that's gentrifying.

$800K seems steep.  But the street is very steep too, so that has a certain charm to it.  Some people like these steep hillside areas.

Personally, I preferred the old house's aesthetics.  Especially the huge bougainvilla.  I don't like these new modern houses much.  They look, to me, like something designed in a computer, circa 1995.  You know, when the Pentium Pro was considered fast, and "3d" meant a lot of flat surfaces.

And the winners are Marino, LoansbyJW and LoneStager. Sold today for $675K!

Not quite $829K but a 270% mark-up ain't bad.

Oh how I wish I had a home to sell. I just got an e-mail from my former RE agent--one of the most prolific agents in this part of NELA--who said she was absolutely desperate (her words) for some sales listings.
