You still have some time tonight to fill out the online forms to request a decline in value for your property tax bills. This is specifically for Los Angeles County.
If you bought a property from 2006-2009 like I did you likely are paying property taxes based on a higher valuation than current market.
County webpage (select the online form RP-87)
http://assessor.lacounty.gov/extranet/list/forms.a
The deadline is today and you need to provide at least two comparable sales before March 31, 2012 that provide additional evidence for the valuation to be changed.
Property tax payments must be sent in for the 1st installment by December 10, 2012.
* Edit - you should have the paper bill for the APN and PIN number in the blue box and you can get sales data from Redfin.com!
