For the entertainment value

http://www.redfin.com/CA/Toluca-Lake/9928-Toluca-Lake-Ave-91602/home/5310064

No, this is not even remotely the area or price range I'm looking, but I stumble on this listing and it made me chuckle.

Well, they are hoping to make about 6 million in profit.

Wow, and the house LOST money between the previous two sales.  Nice place, though.

Here's another long stayer:

556 days, will they make two years?

Can anyone say "Chasing the market down?"

Re: For the entertainment value

That's stunning...$3,000 HOA dues...I wonder if that is per month...
And they started at asking almost $8.8M...now only 6.65M:smileyhappy:
I guess they feel that extra underground 2700 sq.ft. is worth lots of dough.

Somewhere here in Porter Ranch, that ginormous, hilariously tacky Graceland reproduction house has been on the market for a while. They wanted 1.89 (edited for pricing mistake) mil at first, and stunningly, nobody wants it. Not even now, with it dropped to nearly 700k.
*snicker*

I wouldn't care if it dropped to 400k - I wouldn't buy it; I could never live in it and feel proud of myself or comfortable. Short of plowing it under or a raging house fire, there's nothing you can do to that place to make it not tacky as all get-out. I seriously wonder what people are thinking sometimes. (Note that I'm neither an investor nor someone looking to flip. Even *if* I could buy a place at 400k and turn around in a few years and sell it for a profit, I wouldn't. We are looking for a place to LIVE, hopefully permanently)

If I had bookmarked it, I would pop it in gleefully. I'll have to email my agent and see if she can call it up.

EDIT: here we go.
*snicker*
17912 Parthenia St. Northridge (my bad - thought I remembered it being in Porter Ranch). At any rate, it's being advertised in other states as well, higher-priced. Current listing price locally is back up to 999k from 749k. Original listing price was 1.89 million.

The listing on Redfin is expired, but it's current elsewhere.
