Any one notice more rentals available and for lower prices?

[ Edited ]
6 months ago before we decided to try to buy a home me and my gf were looking to rent(before I found out I could by a 2nd home for less than 20% down). We have just about given up looking to buy because prices have spiked up in just 2 months and there is literally no more inventory that fits our criteria available.

But I have noticed that there are a LOT more rentals available and the rates are cheaper. And in the two apartment blocks that have 8 units where my gf used to live before she moved in with me, only 3 are now occupied after she moved out. They also dropped the monthly rate $100/mo 2 weeks ago

Have you noticed more home rentals available recently and a drop in rates? And if rent prices are dropping, what will that do to home inventory and pricing?

I think its all seasonal. Winter is normally a time when less people move and shop hence the variations.
