Still looking for a single family home in Sandy Springs/Dunwoody area. I am not too farmiliar with preforeclosures, specifically how to find and purchase. Are they viewable on redfin? Any takers on this question? Thanks in advance

yes pre foreclosures can often be found under "short sales." Essentially the agents list them BEFORE they get taken back by the bank at auction and attempt to settle the seller's debt for LESS than what is owed. hence the term "selling short". Anytime you see the words "contingent upon 3rd party approval" you know it is a short sale and may be a pre-foreclosure.

Yes, ALL homes that are listed "Active" for sale and/or "Pending" are available to view on Redfin.com. There are definitely homes that are behind in payments (i.e. in the foreclosure process) or even already foreclosed upon (bank owned) which are NOT for sale at this time. There is no timetable or answer as to how or when these might be for sale on the open market (sometimes the answer is never).
