Troubletown, A lot of it depends on the builders situation. They may have paid off all their loans and have plenty of time to wait til they get their asking price. They best way to find out is to make an offer. Go ahead and make an offer for $900K plus 2 yrs HOD"s and a 5% seller consession. They will either, not respond, counter, or say yes. The first two are most likely. Have you agent look up the property records and hence the mortgage history of the builder. See how many units have sold already, when the last one sold..etc. If they dont' respond, keep making offers tweaking it a little. Money is money- and builders are not emotionally bound to these units.
