Hi,

I would to start the homebuying process with Redfin but unable to because both of the San Diego agents aren't accepting new customers. What can I do to find a Redfin partner agent?

Thanks,

Damon

Hi Damon,

We have a bit of a messaging problem on the site that we're going to hopefully get fixed this week. See our agents are still accepting new clients but they're just not accepting what we call "agent requests". An agent request is when you request to work with an agent from the agent's profile page ahead of going on a tour with Redfin or making an offer.

So if you'd like to work with one of our agent's we recommend getting started with a home tour or if you have a house in mind you can connect with them by submitting an offer.

We're also quickly trying to get more agents on board so that we can better support you from beginning to end.

What can I do to find a Redfin partner agent?

Unfortunately we don't have partner agents in San Diego at this time.

We did try to book a tour this weekend (admittedly on Friday) and a gentleman called but he was essentially booked and could only offer a 6 p.m. Sunday view that would fit our schedule (Sat  a.m. was boooked), not very convenient as we did not want to fight Orange County to SD traffic coming back at 7:00-7:30.

Certainly got the impression SD needed more agents.

mvandor - We have 7 agents in San Diego county alone that are solely dedicated to providing home tours. I apologize that we were not able to accomodate your schedule. Weekends do tend to fill up fast, so it is best to try to schedule a weekend tour as soon as possible.

Dag44 - we only have partner agents in areas that we do not directly service - Riverside county for example. Our partner agents are those who work for other brokerages (C21, Re/Max etc) who we refer our out of area clients to. They are offered a 15% rebate instead of a 50% rebate. As demand increases in each of the areas we service, we hire additional agents as necessary.

Anevares - Thanks for explaining the difference. I'm using a traditional agent. To me it's worth paying the extra 50% to have an agent I can call on a moment's notice to go see a house as soon as it hits the market, day or night, and then have her be willing to write the offer no matter what time it is. No waiting for an appointment that could be days away since we all know that in this crazy market the house will likely be gone the day it lists for sale.
