What do you mean you saw a property in an "ad"? Do you mean you saw it on Redfin? I would suggest finding a buyer's agent. There is usually 6% paid by the seller. The seller agent gets 3 and the buyer agent gets 3. If you don't have an agent then the seller agent gets 6. You lose nothing by getting an agent and you get the confidence of knowing that you are not going to get yourself in over your head. Just get your agent and ask him/her about the property. You can get accurate answers to specific questions on the actual property that you can't get by asking general questions on non-specific properties here.

Thank you. If we love this place, we'll get an agent (from Redfin). If not, why waste the time of anyone but the listing agent....
