Any tips on how to view sale records on Redfin?  I am signed-in, looking in Lakeview neighborhood, and on the search page I've chosen to see *only* sale records...and nothing comes up when I run the search.  I then zoomed out to all of Chicago and still nothing.  The search parameters are $250-$500k, 2 bedrooms 1 bath min, no sq ft specified, and I asked for records from the last 1 yr.

I can still view them (# bdrm and bath are blanked out) on the neighborhood page under the Recently Sold tab, and then I can "map" the results by a link on the bottom of the page, but I can just do it via the main search page.  It works fine this way, but it woudl be easier to just run a search....

I tried a search of sale records in another area.  Even after making it as broad as possible to insure that I would get some results the search results came back with no hits.  My guess is that the function is not working properly.

Can you post a link to the search you're running and we'll check it out?

I would suggest modifying your search parameters.  I am able to view the sales records when I do not select any parameters.  I suspect by selecting the number of bedrooms and the number of bathrooms you are eliminating all of the records as these fields are not shared in the sales records.

Perhaps I have found the problem.  If you move from the search you are on and modify the parameters to search for something different it seems that you must hit the "update search" button on the bottom as opposed to the "search listings"  button at the top.  Furthermore, it would seem that once you make this error it needs to be reset to get results, it is not sufficient to switch to the "update search" button as you will still get no results.

Hmmm. Which button you push shouldn't make a difference. If you copy and paste what's in your Internet browser's address bar we can take a look.

Hi all - I just went to the redfin opening page and searched a large swath of the north side (Armitage to Addison) for sale records from the last 1 year of 2bd places from $250-475k, and got "No homes match your search."

Here's the URL:

http://www.redfin.com/search#lat=41.94509588599702&long=-87.64969825744629&market=chicago&max_price=475000&min_price=250000&num_beds=2&sf=&sold_within_months=3&status=1&v=5&zoomLevel=14

Again, I know there are sale records available because I can get to this data indirectly by going to the page for any specific listing, then hitting Wrigleyville/Lakeview under "Median Condo Values" at the bottom of the page.  This takes me here:

http://www.redfin.com/neighborhood/29811/IL/Chicago/Wrigleyville-Lakeview

From here, the "Recently Sold" tab shows me that there's a lot in these parameters in the last year.

This didn't work for me either.  I just tried only putting in price (250-475k) and Any for number of bedrooms (and no minimum for bath, sq foot, etc), and still got no search results for sales in the last 1 year.  I am searching all of Lincoln Park and Lakeview, from Armitage to Addison.

Looks like the issue is that sale records in the Chicago area don't have beds or baths information. So... When you search for past sales and specify a number of beds or baths you're not going to find anything. If you search just by location + past sale records it should work.
