Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing any of the same frustrations with selecting homes you would like to tour on the Redfin website. I am in the market for a home but have no ties to any particular area; I want a nice town with a reasonable commute to Boston. Because of my flexibility there are homes in several areas I am interested in seeing. On the website, once you select one house you'd like to see, there is no way to select others that you'd like to see an alternate day. Today I requested a tour in Melrose and then added a home in Wilmington. I didn't care if I saw them on the same day or not. I then received a rather terse phone call from the woman who schedules the tours. She complained to me that one field agent would not cover that area, that it would be too far for so-and-so to travel, and that Redfin would have to pay two agents. Well, that is unfortunate but that is the business model that Redfin developed. I am not asking them to do anything unique. I asked her to just forget it. In this market there are plenty of agents who would jump at the chance to show a property to a pre-approved, prospective buyer. I have enough to think about without having to worry myself with how much I might be inconveniencing or costing Redfin. I am disappointed because I have enjoyed the service thus far, but was completely turned off by my recent interaction.

Jodi, I am very sorry to hear about your recent experience and it sounds like the facts were not communicated to you in a correct manner. You are welcome to tour in different areas and I believe the point was that it might have to involve 2 different field agents as we have people in specific areas covering those showings and your request would cross these borders. This is ultimately no concern of yours and I am very sorry you felt you felt mistreated or not given the proper respect. I will speak with the tour coordinator about this conversation and again am very sorry for your experience as I know it does not reflect the experience of most of our clients. Thank you for your interest in Redfin and again I am sorry for your experience with this aspect of our service. Please feel free to reach out to me directly with any further comments or concerns. Thank you,
