Hi, I was interested in the 3/2 attached single-family listing @ 117 MacDowell Terrace. The townhouse looks interesting but I don't know much about the area, and could someone tell me more about this particular area? How would this community compare with others in the city of Sunnyvale? What are the schools, etc. Thanks

mohanua, I suggest you drive to the area and feel for your self first. As far as I know, the surrounding area is quite okay. Sunnyvale community center, El Camio Real, downtown Sunnyvale are either nearby or not far. But that particular TH is close to Remington, which is somewhat busy. As for schools, that area belongs to Sunnyvale school district (Ellis elementary and Sunnyvale middle) and Fremot Union High (Fremont high). So schools are acceptable (to my standard) but not stellar.

Hi Mohanua, As the previous poster stated, it may be best to drive around the area to see how comfortable you feel with it. Many people find Sunnyvale attractive in that it is slightly lower in pricing that Mountain View, but still centrally located to the southern peninsula. As far as schools, you can find the district map at http://sunnyvaleschool.ca.schoolwebpages.com/education/components/scrapbook/default.php?sectiondetailid=592, which shows the boundaries for the elementary schools in Sunnvayle. I would stay away from this house. I live in sunnyvale and like the city(except the areas from central to 101). But, this particular property is located in nice place and you could walk to almost every place. I dont know what the seller smoking, Look at the history of home: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Sunnyvale/117-Macdowell-Ter-94087/home/1561991 The seller bought on June 28th, 2005 for 585K, and wants an appreciation of 25% and wants to sell for 749K, and they are not even in best of the best schools.

It's worth in the area of 550K given a generous amount of appreciation since 1996.
