On October 9, we submitted our offer for this place: http://www.redfin.com/CA/Union-City/519-Tamarack-Dr-94587/unit-23/home/1885270 and now I'm seeing that it sold on Sept. 25??? (Thanks Redfin for the new features!) How does that happen? This makes no sense! Immediately after several parties submitted their offers, this place went "inactive" on the MLS. First the listing agent let everyone know that it was a multiple offer situation. Then the agent let the realtors know the bank pulled it because they weren't sure if it should be in the short-sale pile or if it was still going to be foreclosed. We never heard back and my realtor was unable to get any information. Now, I see it had already been sold for several days prior!?

How are we supposed to "buy" anything if even the banks and listing agents don't know whats going on with their own properties? This is so frusterating... I really liked that neighborhood! There was a Starbucks across the street. LOL

Buyers market? HA! More like investors market.

Sounds like it was foreclosed upon. Foreclosures are marked as "Sold" under the transaction history.

EXCELLENT POST!!! Why is it that banks are willing to allow the same type of practices that led to this crisis to continue? Some of us weren't sucked in, handled our finances and STILL can't get in due to investors flooding the market. Most of these foreclosures are investor defaults. Why don't FHA, Fannie and Freddie wake up... will this happen again in another 5 years???
Kudos!
